Doers Over Doubters

Oct 20, 2025 • ~2–3 min read

There are two kinds of people: complainers and doers. Vent if you must, but don’t camp there. Head up. Next play. Didn’t get the raise? Good. Didn’t get the promotion? Good. Now show up ten times harder. Be so excellent, so consistent, so committed that ignoring you becomes impossible. What defines you isn’t the setback—it’s your next move.

14 Do everything without grumbling or arguing, 15 so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky. — Philippians 2:14–15

What are you accepting that you shouldn’t? Maybe you were dealt a tough hand. That doesn’t decide who you are or how you operate—it just means your route might be different. Most people in my industry had a head start—parents who are doctors, pilots, or entrepreneurs. Me? I worked multiple jobs, dog-sat on weekends, and spent Friday and Saturday nights in the library to become the first in my family to graduate from university. I sat at a desk until I finally admitted what was missing: the thrill of flying.

So I started at the bottom—fueling airplanes, hustling on the tarmac for pilots younger than me. Gut punch? Absolutely. But I’m not accepting my circumstances. I’m rejecting the labels. My age doesn’t define me. The balance of my bank account (if any) doesn’t define me. My heart, my habits, and my obedience do.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” — Colossians 3:23

There’s no luck—only preparation meeting purpose. Fix your mind on where you’re going. As Napoleon Hill wrote, “Whatever your mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” I’ve applied for countless scholarships; win or lose, the assignment stays the same: show up excellent, consistent, undeniable.

My prayer is simple: Father, don’t let me go anywhere You haven’t gone before me. Walk with me through the journey. That prayer will stretch you and sometimes stall you—but that’s where transformation begins: learning to be comfortable in the uncomfortable, shining even in your darkest moments.

“Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9

I choose the hard route with a steady heart and working hands. I will outwork yesterday, outgrow comfort, and outlast doubt. The Lord goes with me, so I go forward—head up, next play. Throttle forward. Centerline alive. Airspeed building. Rotate.

💬 I’d love to hear your thoughts! What’s your next play?
